APPLES Service-Learning spring 2018 internship applications

APPLES Service-Learning Internships are unique, intense experiences in service for either the spring semester or summer. Students intern at a variety of nonprofit and government organizations, receive funding ($1,250 for spring and $2,500 for summer) and academic course credit through a course hosted by the School of Social Work. Applications for APPLES Service-Learning Alternative Fall Break (AFB) are open Aug. 22 to Sept. 18. Through AFB, students learn and serve outside the UNC community over fall break, a four-day period when the university is closed during October. APPLES 2017 Alternative Winter Break applications

APPLES Alternative Winter Break (AWB) typically lasts six days while the university is closed between the fall and spring semesters. This year, the APPLES Service-Learning program will offer four unique alternative winter break opportunities for UNC undergraduates. Students spend the work with experienced community partners and reflect upon their learning experiences. The Carolina Center for Public Service will host a Hurricane Matthew update briefing 9 – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 in the Frank Porter Graham Student Union, room 3503. Buckley Public Service Scholars fall enrollment

Fall enrollment for the Buckley Public Service Scholars program is open Aug. 18 to Sept. 30. All undergraduate students with at least four semesters remaining at Carolina can enroll in the Buckley Public Service Scholars program during the enrollment period. Transfer students must have three semesters remaining to enroll. When enrolling, students should sign up for an orientation session or make sure that they will be available for an orientation session the following semester. Enroll online through the Buckley Portfolio.
