2017 Community Engagement Fellowship applications

The Community Engagement Fellowship program awards a maximum of seven fellowships of up to $2,000 each year to develop and implement engagement or engaged scholarship projects that (1) employ innovative, sustainable approaches to complex social needs and (2) have an academic connection. Returning, full-time graduate students at UNC-Chapel Hill are eligible to apply. Previous fellows are eligible to apply for an additional year of funding. 2017 Mingma Norbu Sherpa Fellowship

The Carolina Center for Public Service is accepting applications for the 2017 Mingma Norbu Sherpa Fellowship. The fellowship is named for the late Mingma Norbu Sherpa, a pioneering conservationist in the Himalaya who served as an official with the World Wildlife Fund. The Carolina Engagement Council will host the annual Engagement Units Summit 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 at the Carolina Club, George Watts Hill Alumni Center. The summit will focus on engaged experiential education: to enhance student learning and support communities. SMART Mentoring applications

SMART Mentoring engages UNC undergraduate students and local middle-school students in mentoring relationships. The program targets students from low-income communities and focuses on issues of race, class and gender.
