Kate Palmer
Senior Program Officer for Community Engagement
Kate received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Psychology and minored in both English and African and African-American Studies. Post-undergrad she worked as a research assistant in Developmental Psychology at the Center for Developmental Science (CDS), where she was able to help pilot a study, train and supervise undergraduates and conduct assessments in elementary schools. After working at CDS for three years, Kate received her Master in Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill. Previously, Kate worked at the Campus Y at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she was a program assistant for the Bonner Leaders Program.
At CCPS, Kate has managed the Buckley Public Service Scholars program, advised the SMART Mentoring Program and coordinated disaster relief efforts.
Kate currently works with the APPLES program which includes alternative breaks, service-learning courses, internships, and teaching an alternative break course.
