Katelyn Bodwell
Program Officer for Community Engagement
Katelyn Bodwell (she/hers/her) serves as the Program Officer for Community Engagement, where she provides leadership for community engagement initiatives through a variety of programs including Buckley Public Service Scholars, SMART Mentoring, Arts in Public Service and the SECU Public Fellows Internship program. Katelyn previously worked with the Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement at UNC Greensboro and the Center for Leadership and Service at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Katelyn earned a Bachelor of Arts in music from Rollins College, then a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership- Higher Education/Student Personnel from the University of Central Florida. As two-time AmeriCorps member, Katelyn served with Hope CommUnity Center in Apopka, Florida, and United Way in Alexandria, Virginia. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership- Cultural Foundations where she hopes to critically examine and transform university service programs. Through all of her professional and volunteer experiences, Katelyn has been dedicated to building the capacity and impact of programs focused around leadership and community engagement so that students may become action-oriented citizens in their communities and beyond.
