Support the Carolina Center for Public Service

The Carolina Center for Public Service has enriched the student experience, bolstered faculty resources for engaged scholarship and supported partnerships that connect Carolina with communities throughout the state and far beyond.

The work, mission and impact of the Carolina Center for Public Service is at the forefront of the University’s largest fundraising effort to date: the Campaign for Carolina. Our University, the nation’s first public university, proudly serves North Carolina, the nation and the world through teaching, research and public service. Carolina remains steadfast in its commitment to be of the people and for the people by bettering the lives of North Carolinians and the world. To do this, we rely on the generosity of our community of donors, alumni, students, faculty, staff and the state.

Private giving is essential and enables the Center to develop innovative ways for students and faculty to engage, including the Buckley Public Service Scholars program, Thorp Faculty Engaged Scholars program and a host of initiatives through APPLES Service-Learning. Consider these statistics:

  • The Buckley Public Service Scholars program has graduated 2,418 scholars since the program’s inception in 2004
  • 53 faculty members have been selected as Thorp Faculty Engaged Scholars from 10 professional schools and the College of Arts and Sciences, representing more than 20 departments
  • APPLES continues to transform educational experiences by engaging more than 2,400 participants in internships, fellowships, alternative breaks and over 100 service-learning courses.

Please join us in supporting this important work and make a gift today. Gifts to the Center support students, faculty and staff across all schools and disciplines in engaged scholarship, and help Carolina connect to communities across the state and around the world.
