Based on their demonstrated commitment to service, the Carolina Center for Public Service has selected seven students in the class of 2024 as the newest cohort of Community Service Scholars.
These scholarships provide financial aid for students’ remaining time at Carolina and enable them to increase their commitment, knowledge and skills related to community service. Through the scholarship, students receive training, mentorship and support in pursuing their particular public service interests. Scholars complete around 250 hours of service per year, participate in a four-day leadership development course through the North Carolina Outward Bound School over fall break and implement a capstone project in their junior and/or senior year through the MacDonald Community Fellowship.
The program supports student service through the following endowments: the Scott D. MacDonald Scholarship, the Ubell Family Scholarship, the Fisher Family Scholarship and the Blanchard Scholarships. CCPS is grateful for the donations that make the Community Service Scholars program possible.
